Work is what you physically do on the job.

Your job would be the title and the position you hold in your company.

Your work would be the skills you were hired and get paid to perform.

The two words are synonymous. They are just words to mean the same thing. You can use them interchageably. However, there is a subtle difference depending on the context. For example, "It is just a job!" is sort of a prejorative to work as just a source of making money without really regard to the value of the work. That means by referring to your work as "just a job" means you don't really care about it, -- you would not care if you got fired or not. You are there clocking in just to "milk" some money and that you think that you are better than the WORK you were hired to do.

Your employer may refer to your position with a job title or a work designation.

"Work" is an action performed that results in a quantifiable change in the physical world.
A "job" is a social role that involves a certain number or sequence of tasks.
But there are exceptions ( cultural exceptions of course), for instance, meditation might be considered work, even though there is no easily measured "outcome", and in organized crime a "Job" might mean... well you probably know.

A job is just a job. It gets you a weekly or biweekly paycheck just enough to pay the bills. Work is your career. It is what you want to do the rest of your life (and of course getting raises and promotions as well). It is not just another "job" you will probably end up quitting to go on to the next "job"....

job is the informal term for work.

work is comprehensive, job is particular..a specific job or a bunch of jobs form an integral part of the whole work.

work may be a verb or a noun. job is plain noun (eg: work out your work --> the former is a verb, the latter a noun).
