So Friday night (the night of my 21st birthday) about 9 I start to head over to my friends bc we were gonna hang out. I was at the stop light for to turn onto a major street bc I had to goto my bank so thats the way I was leaving... well the light turns green and I take my foot off the brake and look down real quick at something and i look up and the guy in front of me is braking so I start braking but its wet and I was too close and rearended him... There is NO damage to either car, not even paint transfer and I didnt even hit him hard enough to make him move forward, just spring forward and then back... so i asked him what he wanted to do (call the cops, etc) and he said no so I suggested we change info. I called him saturday after noon to make sure everything was ok (left a mess) he called back less than an hour later saying the car and everyone was except that a few ppl in the back seat had some headaches.... so I apologized again and said if anything further showed up to just give

give me a call so he calls me about 335 today and tells me the girl in the FRONT seat had such a bad headache from hitting her head on the front dash or something, that she was getting a catscan so I told him id call him back to talk to my mom and she calls him and he tells her about the girl and she asks why he didnt and still hasnt called the cops and he said bc he didnt want me to get arrested bc I was intoxicated....................... first of all I almost never drink and when I do I NEVER DRIVE, NEVER EVER and I cant drink most alcohol bc of the yeast thats in it. so I called the police and they came to give me a report and the female officer was rolling her eyes at what I told her the guy said and she told me to not speak to him again except to tell him I filed a report w the police and my insurance company and to give him their number if he wants to make a formal claim. and the insurance guy was like wtf too. 48 hours after u hit someone

and youre now just getting a headache..... so bad u need to goto get a catscan... so I might be sued, I might not, just depends on if hes brave enough to file a real claim... the officer said that hopefully that should scare him off (knowing that I filed all my stuff). if everyone was so hurt... why hasnt he called the cops and his insurance company already!?... This is so stressful... I should have just called the cops but I assumed everything was ok... what a big mistake... and on top of it all, they reaked of weed probably why he didn't want to call the cops)... This is my first accident I havent even gotten a ticket for anything, im a really careful driver. why are people like this? I can understand if shes really hurt but if shes so hurt, why havent you called the cops!? Its really suspicious... I think that they think because I live in a decent neighborhood and drive a Lexus that I have some kind of money but I dont! I worked really hard to get that car and now its my downfall!?

How are you going to hit your head on the dash board if you're wearing a seat belt in a really minor fender bender....

My mother has been in several car accidents and is in the medical field and was an xray tech for over 20 years... if you have whipelash, you have it right away... I understand there can be other complications but if so, why didnt you inform anyone?

Why are people so rude? Its a car I really wanted, I worked hard and deserved it. Im sorry you dont like your altama... but thats no reason to down me.... and to the other person... I only called him twice... to make sure everything was still ok and then to tell him I filed a claim and didnt expect to hear from him again... Im not a bad person, I tried to do the right thing (even though I should have done more by calling the cops) Could anyone else make me feel any worse that I already do!? I know it was my fault... It was an accident and im being punished bc of it...

When you get into a car accident, most of the time you don't feel the initial pain. It usually spurs within the next couple of days. If he called a week later and complained, then I would be worried. I'm sure nothing pertinent is wrong with them. Just slight whiplash. But now you know, you can not follow so close behind people. Give yourself enough room to react to anything! Could have been lots of reasons why they didn't call, but next time you should call the police no matter what. Never trust the other driver, even if you're in the wrong. They may end up taking advantage of you.

Well if you called, why are you so stressed? You did your part. The insurance company handles it from there. Pictures are taken, medical documents are reviewed, and the police report is reviewed.

Everyone gets into some kind of accident. It's okay - and will be okay. It's not the end of the world. When I started driving, I hit the median at a gas station and wrecked my fiance's car. The attendant at the gas station was like "I've never seen anything like that". It's funny now, but I felt pretty crappy then.

Call the police and report the accident. Call your insurance company and report the accident. Let the police and your insurance handle the claim.

Your mistake was not to call the police first place, so they can create an accident report. Exchanging information allows your insurance company to process the claim.

Just say to both, there was no visual damage, so nothing was done at the scene of the accidents.

Next time be more careful because the officers might think u are the one with something to hide if u delay. And u cant trust the other driver as they might have other agendas, but there of course can be delayed pains from injuries incurred in an accidents. I believe though that its nothing serious so I dont see u sued.

All the best

AND STOP CALIING, THEY LL CALL if they need u.

It's your own fault for hitting them. Pay attention to your driving. If you don't, then something like this happens and you have to pay for it. I wrecked my father's truck when I was 16 and had to pay for the damages. He didn't sue me, but I still paid up for my mistake.

I don't feel sorry for either of you. The people in the other car sound like they are stupid and shady. And you are a fool for buying a Lexus if you are not rich enough to afford one. I'm poor and I drive an old Altima, not a Lexus. Serves you right.
