Fred C - Which is more insensitive; dragging the life and death of that baby's mother through the media grinder for all to see, or questioning whether or not it is actually news worthy to do just that?
Mothers die everyday, leaving babies to live a life without them. Granted, not all of them are ex-fat strippers who slept around. If you care so much about the world addressing the problem of motherless babies, why don't you push for the thousands of daily cases in which this occurs to be covered by the news media?

A week from now we'll have forgotten it.

Because people are fascinated with her, because she died young & mysteriously, and because she lived this tragic, trashy, in-the-spotlight life. I feel sorry for her, and for her baby.
It will die down eventually, although I am sure Geraldo and "E!" will be harping on it for the next year.

No, there is nothing else going on, anywhere. That is why no newspapers are publishing, CNN is off the air, and all tv newscasts are cancelled for a week.
