Well first off if you are in the US it is illegal to grow pot.
Hydroponics is where you grow the plant totally in water. Hydroponics is not really done that much in the US yet. The main Place I hear about it is in Holland (they are growning hydropinc bell peppers ect.) Hydroponic growing is usually done comercially.

Firstly, I believe dope is for dopes. If you feel you MUST grow it; don't do it at home. Most countries that have pot criminalized also have a provision to seize everything involved in the crime. The house is one of the things they seize. Is it worth growing it and not only going to jail but not having anywhere to live when you get out? Think about it.

The best way is to NOT grow it.
