Installing sound clips?

Question

I am trying to install onto my computer some movie sound clips, for at least: when i get a email, and opening desktop

i want: "You have a new message" from 2001 and "Shall we play a game" from War games


however when i go into control panel and then into the sound effects, i tell it to use my clip but it still plays the window's default

i have saved it under a new file and have deleted the default.

How can i make sure it plays what i want it to?

i use messenger to pull up hotmail

Are you using AOL or Microsoft Outlook to retrieves e-mail?

After you have made the changes click the Save As button and select a Scheme name.

Now select the scheme and sounds should work fine.
