Technically there is no such thing as "secret" marriage in the Philippines, because you have to get a license before you get married, and all applications for licenses are posted in public places for ten days before they are approved.
So even the so-called "secret" marriage is valid in the Philippines, as long as the marriage is registered in the Civil Registry/National Statistics Office.

there is no divorce.. everyone is sleeping with everyone or living with whomever they want but there is no secret marriage . now if you are filipino and come to the states you can divorce your spouse here if you are a citizen here but otherwise you are out of luck

i would like 2 ask. i am separated for 11 yrs. in civil marriage.now i found out that my x-husband got married in church. how can they got married to church when he is still married to me. is their possible that our marriage is not void? or civil wedding has a validity of no. of years. thank you..
