I don't know, but people who think accents are hot are busters.

When I moved to Boston I realized that they do that here too you know!
People with a real Boston accent add the r at the end of a word ending in a when it's followed by another word which starts with a vowel. It's funny but it makes sense (kind of) it's less awkward sounding, like the liason that they use in French.
Example:
Who's umbreller is that?
Ask Melliser if she wants to go.
I'm not giving Vanesser any of my valentine candy.
I've never been around that many British but have plenty of time to hear the Boston accent. My guess is it comes from England, like all of the crazy names for cities and towns around here that don't sound anything like they're spelled...like Worcester, Gloucester, Leominster, Haverhill etc etc

We all have accents of one form or another. It just depends upon what perspective you are coming from. I think different accents sound cool. Actually, some I like more than others but it's all variety and what you like. For the record, the British accent sounds pretty cool to me.

Like when Simon says "Pauler" instead of "Paula"? I don't know. It's just like any other accent, things are pronounced differently.

Look at it this way. Since English came from, well, England - they're the ones speaking it correctly. America's the one that's got it wrong. Their pronounciations are closest to the original, and you're the one that went off on a tangent. ;)
