I'm looking for a new author or series to get into. I usually read fantasy books or history books but it doesn't have to be of that genre. I just want something that is good and worth the read. Any suggestions?

Harlan Coben's books are really, really good. they are mystery/suspense novels.

Start with 'Gone For Good'. It's my favorite!

(FYI-I also enjoyed Gone for Good!)

I tend to read a lot of chick-lit or mystery/crime type books. I'll spare you the chick lit and recommend these authors:

Scott Turow
Jonathan Kellerman
Steve Martini
John Sanford

(Many of these authors follow the same characters book to book, so it's easy to get hooked and to follow them through their various situations.)

Now that I write Steve Martini, I figure I should also mention checking out Steve Martin. He's a brilliant author. Check out Pure Drivel, the Pleasure of My Own Company, or Shopgirl.

Have fun!

I can't believe someone said the same exact thing I was just about to say! lol

I also recommend Harlan Coben and "Gone For Good" was the first book I read that got me hooked!

I usually never read books but The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is the best book I've ever read. I really recommend it.

I recommend the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, if you like both fantasy and history. His earlier book, "The Silmarillion", gives the history of Middle-Earth.
