Is that good enough or should a different program be used?

Unless there was a recent change I haven't read, the Zone Alarm Suite uses the Kaspersky Antivirus program. This is the best AV program on the market. This site will confirm this:

As far as AntiSpyware programs are concerned, never rely on a single AS program. You should always have 3 that provide "Full time" protection. With roughly 2000 new spyware programs introduced each month, no single program can be kept updated to detect and remove all of them. Having 3 programs gives you better chances of avoiding infections.
Most free antispyware programs are "on demand" scanners only. There are a few free "full time" programs available. Windows Defender, Spybot Search and Destroy (tea timer activated) and SpywareBlaster are three very good free "full time" AS programs. All three can be downloaded from this safe download site.

Zone Alarm is one of the best personal firewall which is around for quite some time.
And there are no complaints againt it.
Recently they have added Antivirus and released Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite.
I think you are in Safe Hands.

Freaking great. I've used it for 3 years no problems. SpyBot is good. Very user-friendly.
You can download a trial version. The anti virus is pretty good too.
The firewall is A+ though.

In answer to your question, I had at one time installed zone alarm pro and I found it to be excellent! Just remember to KEEP THE FILES UPDATED. I do this once a week and I have had no problems with it.

I use it and love it. You might have to spend time tweaking it so that all of your applications work.
The only thing that pisses me off is the announcement that pops up once in a while that tells me to update it.
