Americans are offended by anything that pokes fun at their racism, and backward thinking.
They see themselves as the saviours of the world, through the films of Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwartzenneger, and Sigourney Weaver.
The irony is, none of them are American

I'm American and I really liked the Borat movie. I thought it was genius because of the stance it took. It was tongue-in-cheek, but, at the same time, was right on the money about how many people think. I am hoping for a sequel, but have no idea how another could follow the original.
