Gee, it's really great to know that so many Americans have an open mind.....

Actually, the song wasn't about the President at all, but the death threats and violent backlash over a flippant, ill-timed comment, not unlike the one John Lennon made about Jesus Christ.

Pehaps most of you not understand what role the media plays in these matters.

Kelly, you're right. That explains the immature answers.

They are my heroes, they received death threats for their views but didn't back down. Yeah Tom Petty, I think his words are "You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won't back down."

Wow! That's a very immature question. I see you want to start drama, but you need to get a dictionary and common sense. The Dixie Chicks are okay but not great enough to win all those Grammy's. Not surprised since they always pull these disappointing stunts towards the end.

Tonight only shows the vast differences between Los Angeles and Nashville, and how the Chicks have switched fan bases. The majority of country music listeners still think they should shut up and sing. Luckily for them, today's pop country sounds more like 70's rock, so they are able to pick up rock fans who are disillusioned with the current alternative and emo fads.

I never gave a rat's *** about the politics of the Dixie Chicks--the lot of them together couldn't come up with an interesting thought. But they are pretty good as performers. So more power to 'em. Too bad they don't take the advice of Laura Ingraham and "Shut Up and Sing."

I say they still suck but not for the reason you think; just because they, like a lot of country artists these days, have gone pop. I like the old stuff, so I don't care if they sweep the Grammys for the next decade, they'll always suck to me. Oh, and be prepared, you will probably get less stars than you would have seen on the reviews of Plan 9 From Outer Space if reviewers had existed then.

The Liberal view

I hate George Bush because The Dixie Chicks and Green Day told me too.

What do you mean? Did they do something good?
All I know, they seem to spread alot hate towards
people they don't agree with,ect.... so naturally I
don't like them for that reason alot, plus the fact that
they write tacky songs and/or sing them, like Sin City,
ect....That's not helping our nation when people of
other nations here such things!!! I am sorry if this
upsets you,but not everyone likes The Dixie Chicks!
Especially not women who like to call themselves Ladies.
Thats just my honest opinion about it. Hope I didn't offend
you,but It's being truthful.

They embarassed us nationally. They don't stand up for what's right - they mock it. Compare to Susan Sarandon or Viggo Mortensen who protest with intelligence and dignity.
On the other hand they are successful at what they do best - promoting themselves at whatever cost.
You can keep them.

Had they been in the U.S.A. when they ranted about the President then I would say fine but when in a foreign
country they should keep their mouth shut!

They're still lame. But hey, you probably think the same thing about the Insane Clown Posse.

That is the great thing about America. We're entitled to our opinions.

I just don't pay any attention to them.I support the troups not people who take advantage of the benefits of the USA and then turn around and bash our troops, the constitution, etc.
