I am not sure that this is what you want, but I believe that we are the sum total of our experiences, beliefs and our expectations. I don't think you are talking about an indomitable spirit - because an indomitable spirit would be striving for joy and peace. What you are talking about is someone who has believed what other people have said for far too long and it not looking at himself objectively. You are talking about what sounds like someone perservering yes, but to what end?
Self loathing is a tragedy. We are what we think we are. We attract into our lives that which we dwell upon in our hearts and minds. This person needs a very serious attitude adjustment and needs to remember that he is a beloved child of the Universe and joy and prosperity are his birthright. Rise up in your own mind and claim what is yours.
Peace!

I think this could go either way, because I think that there is something to be said for genuine hard work and persistence. But, I also beleive that sometimes, people just get lucky. I does seem like this person is a good worker, and probably uses the put downs in the past as fuel for the future. The only thing is, success does not always equal happiness, and definately not in this case. I do not beleive that we as humans do not have any fight, I think it is the opposite. People are normally the strongest in the face of the strongest adversity. It is sad that the people who are telling you this have most likely lost their faith in humanity, and all that guides it.

First of all, it is truly sad to realize that there are people in this world who are continually told that they will never achieve anything in life, etc. It's unfortunate that this person you mention had to endure such things. On the other hand, it's wonderful that he survived and made something of himself despite the odds. Sounds like this person needs help in working on his self esteme though. Does this person surround himself with people who truly care about him?
I must say that I truly do not agree that humanity as a whole feels the way you describe. I think that the majority of people in this world believe that others in society, regardless of race, creed, color, or national origin, have value.
Apperantly, this person endured a lot of negativity in his life. Negativity is a cancer that appears in many forms. Ridicule, guilt, prejudice, condescension, intimidation, and self-doubt are only a few of the ways negativity manifests itself. While some kinds of negativity come from within and cannot be easily controlled, most are caused by other people. I believe that everyone is entitled to rid themselves of these negative people in order to enjoy happier lives. Maybe this person has someone in his life who is quietly chipping away at his mood and self-esteem? As human beings, we are given the freedom to hand-pick people that contribute to our well being and enrich our lives. We are not physically bound to anyone, and many of the people we interact with every day were not even our choices, but rather the product of our environments. We have no obligation to remain loyal to those who affect us adversely unless we place little value on our happiness.
Take care.

This person obviously has no self confidence but by all means should look at the achievements. and pat themselves on the back for it. This person must have incredible strength within to keep going.
Not all of humanity say think or believe that you dont have fight in you, have no intelligence, or not valued I admire the person you are talking about this person is obviously brighter than most that devalue people for what they look like.

Wow you are really stretching your assumptions here.
Humanity as a whole? And who is "we" supposed to be. All black people? That is a gross generalization based upon one persons story. An inspiring, yet at the same time, sad story, but certainly not indicative of humanity as a "whole". Not by any means.

I think that just shows that he his spirit though broken, wasn't destroyed. I think that is wonderful that he has overcome the adults in his life putting him down as a child. How could people be so cruel to a kid? I don't think that it was humanity as a whole that said those things, I think it was a bunch of racist idiots.

If you pin your hopes and acceptance on humanity you will always lose. Bless humanity all you can but
you must make the hope of your life Jesus. There is no other answer.

humanity as a whole does not believe this; it has just come to be generally accepted due to years of practice

The only experiments I see you working with is the ones the monkeys wouldn't do.
If you're autistic, sorry ~ do you!
