Judging by their behaviour, and body language - are women on an accelerated change into men? Either sociologically, and/or even genetically!

Well, genetically, women can never be men, or else we wouldn't have any more kids! But socially, more women are taking on the role of men and things men have done in the past. I just see this as equality. I mean, women can do things that men do, but that doesn't make them any less of a woman. In terms of body language, it's just a socially accepted thing. It's all what the society deems as "womenly" or "manly" and again, it doesn't make a woman any less of a woman by doing something "manly." That's the way I see it anyway. It'll be interesting to see what others think.

Well, back in the 1900's, they used to be more feminine because they were not treated equally. Originally women just cooked, cleaned the house and they were a pretty ornament to show off when you meet your friends.
Nowadays, women and men are almost equal so they do things only men used to do in the past.
I don't think genetically there is any change. But sociologically, their behavior and body language shows more power, more masculinity than in the 1900's.

Hmmm, nice question. I do psychology, and I'm particularly interested by this area. First of all there ARE differences between males and females - genetic differences - and anyone who says that no differences exist genetically is totally mistaken. Now that's not to say that a lot of GENDER isn't down to environment, isn't socially constructed - a hell of a lot is. A great deal of the different gender roles seen today are down to socialisation, or are strengthened and reproduced by socialisation. I'm involved in research on colour and shape preferences in infants - i.e. do boys like the look of trucks or dolls more, do girls prefer pink to blue. There are clear findings which support the hypothesis that there are genetic gender differences. There was a famous study on infant vervet monkeys that should male infant monkeys preferred played with toys that moved, female infant monkeys preferred dolls.
We're seeing now a shift in gender expectations, and as such you will see omen taking more 'male' jobs and exampling more 'male' behaviours, however there will always be big differences and distinctions because we have evolved differently.

Ok I am a woman who has no need to feel like a man or act like one. I work in a factory and I load trucks for a living. Just because I am able to perform the same job as a man does not mean I am becoming one or that I want to be one. It also does not make me unlady like. Now I am not saying that I can do everything a man can do because I can't. I have no problem with that, I do have a problem with people thinking I can't do anything because I am a woman. I have a husband and a step-daughter ,that lives with me, that I take care of but even if I didn't have that it would not make me any less woman.

Ok, I'm sorry, but I'm going to rant here. The Victorian Era is over, get used to it. Wealthy daughters of ancient Roman's were probably just as skanky as Paris or Brittany. Young ladies in the Dark Ages probably weren't prim and proper either. Young ladies today are A. flauting their assetts for the power, real or perceived, that they get from it. B. recognize the power that men have held in their lives and emulate the postures and behaviors of men who they have admired or recognized have power. Like acting all gansta and stuff. That's just my take on it.

Yes we're all just dying to line up for the final snip snip & add on to make the transition complete. Women turning into men? Are you insane! As if that were even possible without the intervention of disturbed doctors and confused individuals. Hello not all women have penis envy!

Not all of us end up that way, I pass perfectly even in LGBT society. I was never a guy so I did not make a change I just became who I am. I never changed my gender I just started openly presenting it to the world. The person you are talking about was never a girl but has always been male and just now presents his true reality to the world. Who says masculine women are not popular. I happen to be a lesbian and I am attracted to butch women.

oh my god thats F!@#ed! My boyfriend and I were just having that conversation today. Women today especially the ones in their late 20's and 30's seem to be so freggin dominating, and do not want to be treated like a lady! You see it everywhere now, the way they act, dress and behave is very "manly" in a way, I'm not sure what's the cause but yes I definetly agree with that statement! Genetically, not so sure about, it is more the way our society is socializing females today, to be rough and tough, to hold your own. Listen to the media, one example I guess would be the "***** Cat Dolls" band....their song "I don't need a man", I guess they are trying to be more "liberated" by becoming men instead!!! Fools I say Fools, I want to be treated like a lady please and thank you!

As feminism grows, women are indeed becoming more like men. They take on men's rights and men's jobs and thus men's behavior. If a woman works construction or is hanging off the back of a garbage truck, she's not going to maintain much femininity.

In western society women are on more equal footing than men because they can hold the all same jobs as men can and support themselves.

So women can be more sexually assertive without being judged....I think this is more natural.

None of this applies in Arab or African countries unfortunately.
