What ever may be the water, if your body adjusts it, its alright. Always adjustment takes a little time and one has to allow it. If that be not the case, all these masses could not have lived without water. Frankly, how many of us are waiting for a safe drinking water as per medical or WHO standards or buying mineral water bottles?
From news papers, I understood recently that some foreign students surveyed why Indians are less prone to E-coli and some other water borne dieses. Out come of the survey says, that most Indian homes, preserve drinking water in BRASS or COPPER vessels. Thus stored water is free from all sorts of bacteria after 24 hours of storage. The survey concludes that may be the reason for most of the Indians are less prone to water borne dieses.
Unfortunately, most of the modern citizens are left the good habit of using in BRASS or COPPER vessels at home and learned to blame that we are not getting SAFE DRINKING WATER!

If you are from a foreign country, you may not be used to drinking the water here. Hence we advise that you pick up a bottle of mineral water which is cheap and widely available and usually provided in flasks in hotel rooms. Order the same when you are at a restaurant. As far as possible, avoid drinking any kind of water or juices from roadside carts and vendors.

Not safe. Buy bottled when you are there. And I would carry sanitizer pills or just boil the water before you drink it.
