Eventually, the human population will come down. All animal populations go up until they cannot be sustained anymore and they come down. Its only a matter of time before a famine or disease wipes out a large amount of humans.

I personally think everyone should be restricted to having only a certain number of children. A lot of people critise China for the one-child policy but at least everyone is going to have enough food (for a while longer). YEs, there is a current major imbalance in the numbers of women/men over there, but hey! they brought it on themselves. Maybe now, finally they will realize women are imporant and it will raise their statuses. How many people in so many countries barely have enough resources for a couple and one child, but still have like 8 kids!? No concraception methods? OR are the men only just pretending like they do not know and want to keep the women busy.
Genetically Modified Foods...could be the way to go for feeding so many ppl but then again, there isnt enough scientific evidence to prove/dis-prove the safety of such foods on ppl. We may be taken as guinea pigs against our will by our gvntms. Hard to fight that one.
Thing is, it is very possible that there will be a major World War happening way before any food runs out, and a 3rd WW, may mean destruction of quite a few fellow humans, reducing the numbers significantly.
similarly, increase in CO2 in the atmosphere induces climate change and that as well, may change quite a few coast lines...destroying quite a few thousands ppl homes, and killing some together.
Help earth...there was a good old science fiction movie ages ago, I Think with CHarlton HEston even (not sure) called Soylent Green. A near future when there are so many ppl on Earth, we need to feed on different colored food bars to get the needed nutrients. This new one, Soylent Green comes out and a police man investigates...in the end, you need to see it, but too many ppl need to be disposed of and recycled. Makes you think.

Increase Space and Mars exploration...

Skyblue is correct -

Thirty-four years ago a movie "Soylent Green" came out and was the most depressing movie. Old people checked into a hospital and while lying in bed went on a "trip" by watching a video of how America used to be, so beautiful and pristine, mountains, lakes, wildlife. Then they were euthanized. The air was foul with pollution and many variety of foods were gone (strawberries, etc.). Factories were secretly operating at night, recycling dead people into green wafers for food, etc.

Unfortunately we are approaching a time when use of nucular weapons by 3rd world nations will occur. This will result in a population decrease. The ensuing conflict will result in many more fatalities. It's not a good thing to consider but apears almost unavoidable.

Consume much much less, recycle in ways that we have actual shops to refill products instead of mass transit, more neighbor gatherings with dinners. It's scary I'll admit, I have grand ideas but seems as if they fall on deaf ears. I'm very willing to change my ways for the sake of our world, it needs to change it can't be ignored...

We need to look into alternate fuels. I believe we have the innovativeness and technology to defeat our dependence on foreign oil. The problem is that there is an economic infrastructure that is based on oil dependence, so a grassroots movement to develop alternate fuels needs to happen.
