I would like to record HD programming off an antenna source. My TV does not have a video output jack. Is there such thing as a DVR with its own ATSC tuner? Looks like most Tivo's require connection to a cable source. It wouldn't have to be a DVR but I believe that's the only thing that will handle the bandwidth of HD programming. Any ideas? And oh yes, did I mention that I don't want to spend a fortune on this.

The Mitsubishi HD-6000 should do the trick. Non-subscription free ATSC HD recording! It's NOT Tivo which I think is great since Tivo charges monthly for the "privilege" of using their recorder and guide. The prices seem to vary widely by retailer. I think current retail is $1299, but this guy has them for $600. http://www.walts.com/products/HD-6000.html
I've never heard of Walt's so I can't vouch for them. Digital Craze has it for $900 and they've gotten good e-store ratings, 4.5 out of 5 stars after 39 ratings -- very good. Other upcoming options are Blu-Ray recorders which will be out in the US soon with integrated ATSC HD tuners and 160Gb+ hard drives. Everything else seems to be for cable and satellite. Such a shame!
