Say or nod hello, smile, keep walking. Show respect. If you don't feel inspired to flip them a buck, and if an answer is required for some reason, you could say, "Hey man, I'm sorry. There are just too many people asking for money. I have bills to pay too."

Don't give money to beggars and street urchins when you are alone in a street. If you want to give something to the beggars be sure that a guide or your campanion will be with you.If they are demanding and following you don't bother and listen to them. Walk away from that place without paying any attention towards them. If they are still following, you should approach the nearest shop owner or some police personnel for your help.

take a lot of small change with you. alternatively you can practice sprints before they confront u and use it. Did you know there is a syndicate that controls begging. It is a pschological blackmail that they resort to. Just when you are out of a hotel where u have spent some cash, a cloth shop, a temple etc. Donating to favourite charities is ideal and as a citizen, backing economic policies that do not put more beggers on the streets is the best

i usually try to first ignore them but if they approach or bug me i just tell them i have no money and go about my business...pretty simple...typically if im in a good mood i just give um some change or if its real hot out i buy them some water i even drove home got a blanket and brought it back to a guy one time but id rather be kind at my own will not because i feel bothered...you call them such harsh names and really they are just people like us help um out once in a while have a heart you may need something too one day

Well, you can start by ignoring them completely and if they get too persistent give them a stern look. If you must give them something, let it not be more than 1 to 2 rupees only.

Look other way and keep your looks and acts reserved. They are more sensitive and business minded than all of us. They don't waste their time and look for lucrative customers instead of pesturing!

Talk to yourself and swear and inanimate objects. They won't hassle one of their own.
