i saw it on TV once, that korean women exfoliate with table salt and a wet warm towel. I tried once and it felt great. I'm wondering how often can you do this. and are there any side effects?

i would think the salt would dry your skin out. unless u have oily skin. but if not, id suggest sugar. it doesnt dry out and i read somewhere that it kills germs. thats what i use. and i also wouldnt recommend doing it regularly, because it takes the first layer of dead skin off which is what makes ur skin feel so smooth. if u do it too often, your skin wont have a change to really grow back enough and all the exfoliating may irritate and scratch the skin.

Yes. You can exfoliate the whole body with a mix of oil and salt, sugar or baking soda. It may cause the tub or shower to be slippery so watch out. It may leave you a little greasy but pat dry only. Use any one of the 3 listed above , the soda will be most gentle for the face. You are applying the pressure so don't be stupid and rub too hard. It will break the capilaries and cause you to look flushed. Bad idea. The differences between this and the scrubs you buy are. 1. chemicals added to foam and or preserve 2. almond or jojoba oil which are absorbed better and faster so as not to leave you greasy. 3. sents usualy fragrances but some times essential oils.
How often can you exfoliate? As often as you want. I wouldn't more than 3 times per week.
Side effects . If you do it too hard you break capillaries.
Hope this helps.

I would be very careful. Baking soda would be a bit more gentle and would not scratch your skin. If you are going to use the salt, once a week would be more than enough.

it's ok, sea salt is better and it's super best if you mix it with a bit of olive oil to stop it drying out your skin. no side effects, just make sure you rinse.

if your skin type is very oily you can but salt dries skin so be careful, i recommend more to use sugar... it works better and if you mix it with honey it makes an amazing scrub
