When I was a kid, we HAD to refer to it as a/the "bottom". Not sure what she calls it now that we are all grown. We were also not allowed to say, "fart", "ain't", or "shut up"...now that I've got kids of my own, I understand why. Mom's mouth has loosened up a lot since we've been grown. She's probably horrified that my kids are allowed to say "butt" and "fart" - don't let them use "shut up" and "ain't". I even heard her say the "F" word one time (extreme circumstances) - I almost passed out.

I got her to stop using the word a** so now she just says butt or behind.

in certain circumstances, po-po (i.e. "she fell on her po-po"). If it was part of a command, it was "sit on your bottom please"... I don't think I've ever heard my mom say butt or a**
