Im not a jerk or an ******, im just dating. I tend to date more than one girl at a time, and am not ready for the valentines day "meaningfullness." I generally feel like Valentine's is a "reset button," where every valentines, I end communication with all the girls I'm dating & start over. The bottom line is, can I really keep them around without making them my "valentine" ???

Depends how understanding the girl is. If she's cool with it all just being casual, you don't have to get her any valentine's stuff. If you're stringing these gals along and acting like you and her are all serious and stuff, you're an ******. Crying out loud, you can buy someone some chocolate without it being some big mushy meaningful thing. You'd buy these 'close friends' something for X-mas, right? Buy some tokens of the holiday, to be polite, but avoid mushiness. Suddenly have something that you have to go do if she starts getting mushy. See it, in your mind, as a symbol of your mutual hot passion, not mutual romantic commitment. You could even stretch it in that direction by making the gifts adult-themed. It's not just a day for couples, but for lovers too. You have a right to this day too.

oh you are in a pickle arent you. First off, you say you arent a jerk, but cutting off all contact with them, is not conveying that. they will definately start to think that its them. You need to tell them what you are planning to do or not to do. Just let them know that you dont do the valentines thing, over rated anyway.

Actually, you are a jerk and an ******. The very definition of these terms, in fact. I bet your picture is right beside both words in the dictionary. It's nice to know that you atleast do these girls the favour of getting out of their lives each February. They deserve so much better than you.
