I'm in a Sherlock Holmes skit this coming April and I borrowed a pipe from a friend of mine to use as a prop. He collects them and lent this particular one to me asking me to take extra special care of it, of course. Problem is, it still smells horribly of tobacco and I can even taste the smoke when I inhale with it in my mouth. It's not very pleasant, unfotunately. I was wondering if there was any way I could possibly get rid of those things without harming the pipe itself in anyway?

There is no way to get rid of the tobacco smell and taste from a well used pipe. Whatever you do, don't try to wash it, as that could ruin the pipe. You might try asking your friend to clean it for you, but I'm afraid that the taste and smell is there to stay.
