There is this guy who is my best friend, also at the same time I like him as more than just a friend. I have ever since I first met him. He likes me as well. I cant explain the feeling I get when I'm near him. When others are around they say I'm constantly smiling when I'm near him. The only thing I'm scared about is if we become boyfriend/girlfriend that something will happen and we'll break up and lose the friendship. Losing the friendship would kill me. I love him. I cant stand to think about not spending every weekend with him.. or never being friends again. Yet, at the same time... I wanna kiss him.. cuddle.. more than just be friends..and I dont wanna be friends with benefits because then it would just be strictly benefits.. and eventually we wouldnt have any kind of relationship. He agrees with no just friends with benefits stuff. He is so different than any other guy I've met. He cares. Has a heart. And one thing I love is the little imperfections.. he is perfectly unperfect.

You can't spend your life worrying about the "what if's"...if you want more and he would like to try for more then what do you have to lose? Tell him you are interested and see how it goes!

If you are close friends then you can be honest with him. Why don't you tell him that there is something you'd like to share with him, but you don't want it to hurt your friendship. If he says ok, then tell him that you have feelings for him beyond just the friendship and would like to know if he feels the same about you.
If he says no, then you can move on and date someone else. If you're both mature enough, the friendship will continue. If he says yes, well woo hoo!
If you never speak up then you will continue to be tormented and you may miss an opportunity to date a great guy.

*I had a good friend in high school (almost 30 years ago). He told me about 4 years ago that his plan after we graduated was to join the Marines, come back in 4 years and marry me. I was dumbfounded. I had no idea he felt that way. I wouldn't have married him, but that's not the point. He really ought to have mentioned it to me. Go for it and good luck.
