Neither party uses affirmative action.

Both could use it in their political primaries, but neither do.

Do they both believe that minority political candiates have not been discriminated against in the past ?

Why should affirmative action be good enough to use in the work place and for admission to our universities, but not in the most important arena there is ?

Think about it ?

And before someone says anything about the constitution preventing it, the constitution doesn't care how the presidential nominees are choosen.

I am a Democrat and I do not believe in affirmative action. I believe that if you are suited for the position in a business or a spot in a specific school, then you should be offered that spot. Affirmative action was put into place because schools and businesses were run by racist bigots that would over look qualified people because of their skin color/religion and it made them open to doors to people that would otherwise would have it that very door slammed in their face. But the line has to be drawn somewhere.

Both, all the poloticians want is their vote. Democrats have long been the push behind affirmative action, but look what Bush did near the end of his first term. He went to Atlanta and gave the blacks and Mexicans $200,000,000.00 to pay down payments and closing cost on home purchases. The White people got $0.00. And look at the government now. NO ONE is willing to go build, not a fence, but a wall like Israel has on the US Mexican border because there are so many here now till they have a huge number of voters who may vote for the OTHER guy if they aren't catered to like the Democrats have done to the blacks for years.

Affirmative Action is nothing more than putting stupid under educated people in hi positions to show just how liberal and social the Democrats are.

There was a time that it was needed, without a doubt. But, its usefulness is spent and to continue with it would be to the detriment of society. The playing field has been leveled. May the better man always win.

I think it should be applied to economic status rather than race. MInorities would still receive a decent amount of benefits, and it would help those who are disadvantaged, which was kind of the point of AA to begin with.

AA is the pride of Dems. Republicans are generally opposed to it.
