My mum likes both.
I like bolans music more than essex, but i seem to remember the latter being on tv in the late 80s/early 90s...
name the show, i think it involved a canal-barge...
Oh yeah, and my old dear used to play "a winters day" by Essex
when i was small, and it made me cry!

I have never had him on my wall as am too young but have loved Marc Bolan for years as my dad is a massive T-Rex fan.

Neither - more a Donny Osmond girl at the time, but I was only about seven! If it had been one or t'other it would probably have been David. Marc was a bit too weird for me.
