The Dark Side of the Moon is a concept album by Pink Floyd. The side of the Moon not facing the Earth is the far side. It is no more dark or light than the side we see. At a full moon, the far side is in shadow because the Sun is illuminating the Earth side. At a new moon, the far side is facing the Sun and it is the earth side that is dark.

Russian and American spacecraft have photographed the far side of the Moon many times from a very low altitude.

Darkness, and bitter cold. That's what we think, at least.

I like to speculate that the moon is where all th mythical creatures that still cannot be explained by anything other than large amounts of acid went after we quit making up the legends they needed to exist. That's just me, and I am by no means sane.

much of the same as the visible side. there are no alien bases. why would you think if they were so advanced that they would want anything from us?
