=x(2+4)
=x(6)
=6x

Well, you've got two of something, plus 4 more of the same somethings...so...you end up with 6 of those somethings, right?

2x+4X=6X....

It is 6x. It us like adding 2 and 4 except it has an "x" at the end.

6x....in addition you just add the numbers whilst in multiplication you times the numbers and then add the number of x's.

ie 2x + 4x = 6x

2x X 4x = 8xsquared
