Yes And Hillary Rodhum and her pervert husband get in then it just may do that. Texas is safe it is the only state that can make it without the US Government's support.

Only in a B rated Hollywood movie would the U.S. simply "break up". Realistically if the federal government virtually ignoring New Orleans while spending God knows how many billions in Bagdad isn't enough to cause political anarchy in this country, nothing short of an actual invasion by foreign troops would wake up the general public. The morons who claim to be leaders would be arguing about "right" vs "left" and "Republican" vs "Democrat" when the European invasion or the Chinese invasion or the Martian invasion force storms into Congress and arrests them all for crimes against humanity. Our elected leaders could be tried in the world court, and hung, just like Saddam.

The question at this point is will the U.S. grow? Will Puerto Rico become a state? What about Samoa or the Virgin Islands? Also, New York City could become a state; the idea has been entertained before. But that is a very interesting question.

Unfortunately unless we stabilize Iraq we could very well enter into a new cold war.
If we do Russia, China, Pakistan, and North Korea all of whom could be powered by the sleeping giant of the Chineze economy could wipe our economy out leaving the states to fend for themselves.

Yes but right now we would break up into larger countries with states.
The east Coast would probably be one.
The west coast + Nevada
Those two would be allies.
the south, texas would take a lot of state with her.

Well, there were some states that wanted to leave the union oned but that didn't work out so well for them. So I doubt that will ever happen again. If anything the federal goverment is more powerful than ever compared to the states.

No the USSR was made of nations that were joined during different wars etc. The US was made of states that voluntarily joined the union. We see the states as independent but not as nations.

No. Won't happen. The USSR was a collection of countries held together at gunpoint. The USA is a voluntary union of states.
