That's true as long as you never had it in the first place. I don't have a car or a motorcycle, 2 things I have owned in the past and I miss them terribly. I don't have my health anymore and I miss that. I have never owned a jet airplane, so I don't miss that. A person might look with longing at something a rich person has and dream of owning it but that's not the same as missing it.

I think it depends on if you've already experienced the "thing" in question. If it's something like hot water & all of a sudden you don't have it anymore because they cut off your gas then yes, I think you will miss it. If you never have a million dollars then how can you miss it? It's all relative.

I think this has more to do with knowing. If you don't know about it, you don't miss it. It's like the question: How did people live before chocolate? They lived fine without out! They didn't know what it was, therefore they didn't pine for it. Or better yet: How did you live before the internet? I just did. The internet never entered my mind, for the fact that it didn't exist.

I agree if it's something you have never had, there would be no reason to miss it.But if it's something you have had and it's no longer there then alot of times you do miss it?!Ya get it?

That doesn't really make sense. Just because you don't have it now doesn't mean you never did.
For example, earlier tonight I had ice cream. Now it's gone. And I miss it.
Maybe it should be, what you've never had, you don't miss.

No, I think people who don't have an education, freedom, or a sense of security miss those things terribly.

I've always heard you can't miss what you don't have, but that's not the case always. I miss a lot of things I don't have.

disagree. Although I have never had one, I sure do miss having a car with a remote starter this winter.
