I'm planning on getting a girl who i like, a dozen roses. I also want to ask her to be my girlfriend too. I've known her for about a year now and am serious about this. Is there a cute way I should ask her?

First of all, I think a dozen roses is a bit too much, unless you are 100% sure she will say yes. Roses are expensive, especially to get that many, and she may be overwhelmed by the gesture, even though it is very sweet.
You could have them sent to her work, or if they allow it, to school. Write on the card "Will you be my girl?" . Then be there for her answer when she gets out of work or school, or write your number on the card so she can give you her answer in private.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Put "Will U Go Out With Me" right in the middle!
