No, I wouldn't do that to be funny because it is not.
I might do it to be mean, but I don't like to invest in or arm the enemy with brooms or anything else.

My former mother in law gave me a new broom for my birthday. I guess she thought I needed another mode of transprotation in case the car broke down!
