You have a malfunction of the vehicle anti-theft system. Probably a broken wire on the ingition lock cylinder. If so you will need the cylinder and keys replaced. I suggest you have this verified by a dealer.

I presume you are talkiing about the light the comes on when you open the door. Well the button on the inside of the door jam may be faulty. With the door open, manually press it. If it goes off then just buy a a new one. If it does not go off, then take it off and then touch the two wires together and it should go off or light up. Anyway, touching the wires the lights should go on and off. Again you have to replace the inside button. Make sure to check the passenger side too.

What you do is get the Haynes Repair Manual for your Year and model of vehicle at Auto Zone, or another automotive repair shop. The manual will show you what and how to do the repairs.

The book has the schematics to look up too.

Either your key or your anti-theft system is malfunctioning. I suggest you take your car to the dealership to have it checked out properly.
