I have to find the correct driver I need. I don't have the origional software and I don't know a whole lot about computers, so if anyone knows a web site that can somehow tell me what type of sound card I have that would be a huge help.

if you are using XP, goto the control panel and click on add new hardware. it will detect and install the drivers for you. if not, then goto the run in the start menu and type in dxdiag. if there is any recall of the card you might find it here. highly doubtful. if running something else, take the cover off the right side of your computer. make sure the powercord is unpluged from the machine. take the small screw out which hold the card in. gently pull the card out. write what it says on the card down. you'll see a black square which is the chipset. write this down also. it should tell you what the maker and model number of the card is on it. when you get this info, replace the card from where you got it and secure it with the screw. replace the cover. you can either goto the manufactures web site to get the driver, or you can get it from driverguide.com link below. if you need further help, email with everything you wrote down and i'll get you the exact link for what you need to download....good luck..

The simple and the best way to recover your sound card drivers is to do a System restore, click start_>All Programes->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore, now click NEXT you will get a calender on the left hand side select the most recent date other than the date on which you have uninstalled the sound drivers and make sure to click on a date which is in Bold coz it acceps only the dates where it created a restore point for Example if you have uninstalled the sound drivers on 2/10/2007 select any other bold date Prior to 2/10/2007 and click Next Twice and that will get back your audio drivers on the system.

click on reinstall driver and windows will search for it. if it isnt on the computer it can check the windows web site for it. if that doesnt get it then you can look up the specs if the computer is a hp for example if it is a custom build computer the place that build it might have the install cd. or you can open the case of the computer and get the mobo model number or sound card model number and get the drivers for it by searching the web

Go to www.download.com and download Everest Personal Edition.

Once you install and run this tool it would give you a complete report on the software and hardware configuration of your computer.

Go to the Mother Board Section and you would find a link for sound card.

In that you will find your sound card type and a link from where you can download the latest drives for your sound card.

If you are still stuck please get back to me.

appropriate click my computing gadget, click take care of, and then seem under "sound, video, and sport controllers". see if there's a gadget that shows "no longer put in" (or something like that with a yellow triangle) that factors on your sound card. if so, attempt and notice in case you may replace or roll back the motive force (domicile windows would have already got a motive force that works with your card that isnt the producers motive force) in case you dont see the gadget in any respect, then you definately've have been given greater advantageous issues than a motive force.
