There is an academic book available at my university called Early Christian Magic which was magick spells/incantations of the early Coptic church! So, yes, I think so!

humm good question, but it is thought contrary to folklore, the magi, can about the time when he was at least 1year old, so not his birth, Matthew 2:8 talks of a young child, not particularly a baby.
being visited by the president doesn't make you a president... also they worshiped him... magi are, "Zoroastrian priests, who were also proficient in astrology from Ancient Persia" -wikipedia, these priest believe in another god, Ahura Mazda as the one and only god. now just because we use the word magi as "plural to Magus. In modern defintion a Magus is a worker of Magick." doesn't mean that applied 2000 years ago... we must be dilligent to refur to the context of the verses in order to avoid heresy... and then we must not easally jump to conclusions...
I thank you for this question... and I hope you will become more dilligent in you studies, i don't want to condone you but lift you up....

Prescript: "Nothing is holy, except as men would make it so".
Author unknown.

Excellent question Terry.

I have often wondered that if Christianity = "All things good" for mankind and Magic = "All things evil" for mankind, as some others would have us believe. What does one faith (Christianity and Magic) have to do with the other?

I have found no source that gives a legitimate answers for the presence of the magi at the birth of Jesus ...Oh, except as it is related in the Bible, "the word of God". I have heard some suggest that the reason that they came together on this occasion
was because that in their end results, even from the beginning,
they are truly...one in the same!

So for me, and to answer your question, I would have to say, absolutely yes. He was born to be a blessing to all! And, the title ranks right up there with such other notable titles as "rabbi" and "father".

He was (supposedly) visited by them when he was about 1 year old. Not in the manger, as the popular image goes. But yeah, they did use (pagan) astrology to come to the conclusion that there would be a king born in the direction of a star. How interesting.

There is a good book on that subject called "Jesus the Magician." It also points out the many similarities between the experiences of Jesus and acient Hellenistic magical texts.

No, it's just that they knew something was up, since they were into astrology. Basically, they felt a disturbance in the "Force" and had to investigate.
