Hi. While I'd be a little leery of free psychiatric advice (even Lucy from Peanuts, at her roadside stand, charged a nickel), I think you ask a good question. I don't know of any that fit your description, but I did some digging and found a few sites that may help you.
http://www.find-a-therapist.com/ - the most promising one I found. Scroll down to "Ask Our Online Therapists." They mention IM, phone, and e-mail sessions. It doesn't appear to be free, but at "a fraction of the cost" of traditional sessions. And the site appears very useful for finding those traditional therapists, too, which you may ultimately decide to do.
http://www.psychforums.com/ could be very useful, as a sort of support group, at least, and has an impressive array of forum topics. I didn't see any evidence that any of the members or moderators are mental health professionals, though there may be some.
http://www.dearshrink.com/ - again, no evidence of free services, but appears to be a real psychiatrist who offers counseling via online chat or e-mail, among other ways
http://www.psychiatry.com/index.php - Parts of it were down for maintenance when I visited, but it says it's maintained by an MD, and there is a forum.
Note also that if you don't need expertise about medications, a *psychologist* is equally qualified to deal with mental health issues.
If you do decide to see a mental health professional in person (and perhaps this way, too), I think you will find it a positive -- and possibly life-changing -- experience. I've been there, and was glad I did it.
Good luck.
