A pentium 3 800mhz is as fast as a pentium 4 1.4ghz. The first pentium 4's were slower than the last pentium 3's. The 933 pentium 3 could easily beat a 1.7ghz pentium 4. It has been documented thousands of times.
The main thing you need is an upgraded graphics card. If you have an agp port, then you can get a good graphics card, but if you only have pci, then you can still upgrade to something like a mx440.

A new computer would be a good idea.

The speed rating of the processor, though most times listed in the minimum system requirements, is not the primary factor on gaming performance. This is what the game vendors list because most end-users think that performance is stricly based on that number when in fact, it's not. For example, a Pentium 4 running at 2.0GHz will outperform a Celeron running at 2.6GHz.

The major factors include the amount of RAM and it's speed, the type of multimedia functions the processor is capable of, and the graphics adapter. The cache size and speed of the processor is also important - but again - some larger caches will not perform as well as some that are smaller, which is exactly why AMD reduced the size of the caches on some of their 64bit X2 processors last year.

Those who say that you cannot run the game may be correct, but not strictly because of your processor. If you are told that you cannot run it because your processor only runs at 800MHz rather than 1GHz, that is incorrect. I have run many games just fine on processors with a slower core clock speed than is recommended. For example, Just Cause recommends a 2.4 GHz processor - yet my old Athlon XP 2800+ @ 2.08 GHz ran it just fine.

If you upgraded your RAM and video card as much as you can then the only thing you can do is install the game and hope that you can turn the settings down so much that it plays. If not then time to get a new computer.

is the game needs a 1000 mhz to run then your system isnt compatable to run it. it might run it but it will lag a lot and what is the point of playing a game if you have to wait 1 min for each screen to appear

Just get a new computer. You probably cant overclock. A lot of computer made by companies such as Dell and others dont allow you to over clock in the Bios. Plus you wouldnt want to overclock 25% of your original clock speed. You would get a lot of heat from your system or you would just burn up your CPU.

A CPU that runs at 1000 something (maybe Mhz).
or
Overclocking your present CPU.
( I would ask a friend for help on that one)

I think you know the answer. If the specs require 1000mhz and you have only 800 - you either upgrade your PC, if possible -- get a new one -- or forget the game.

As stated previously, it will not run the game.

Although you could try overclocking the computer, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Three words tell you what you need, UPGRADE, UPGRADE and UPGRADE.
