Yes: It has happened to me on more the one job move. Fact is, you would be smart to:
1. Anything of value, get it now.
2. Be prepared for the worse, because it will.
3. They see you as a risk. Not an investment.

So the answer is simple. You could use a vacation couldn't you.

you cant be fired per say yet some companys are known for saying well if you are quitting anways we dont need you to stay the best suggestion in order to put in your two weeks notice and remain employed is to offer to help train your replacment

hmmm - well they have to give verbal warning and then written warning before they fire you. That's the law....no they can't fire you on spot for giving your 2 week notice.

They'd rather you quit because if they fire you you can claim unemployment benefits and they will be stuck paying for that.
