"We're sorry, we should have listened to you...you were right about Bush...here, take these awards even though your music isn't that good...there, we liberals feel better now...sob sob" I'm going to gag.

This is right off of Yahoo..."The Dixie Chicks won all five awards they were nominated for, sweet vindication after the superstars' lives were threatened and sales plummeted when Maines criticized President Bush on the eve of the Iraq war in 2003."

Guess I was right. It's not about music...it's about the liberal agenda. Monday is now a national holiday in DC...Dixie Chick day!!

a. The Chicks never said anything non-supportive of the troops. Just because the President is a moron doesn't mean people don't support the troops. No one wants to leave them over there anymore than anyone wants more sent to die.
b. The Chicks ARE very talented and deserve the accolades of their peers as well as fans. At least they spoke up for what they believed in and didn't cower behind the flag.
c. When did this country become so dang whossie? This country fought for independence. It fought for civil rights. When did it become wrong to disagree with a way of thinking, a war or the rights of others? I believe its called, "Freedom of Speech."
d. They spoke of a President that they no longer believed in. A President that lied and has gotten thousands of people murdered. He should be impeached. When Clinton lied, nobody died, yet he was all but arrested for the crime of sex with another consenting, female, adult. Not a child. Not a minor page.

Huh? You think the "Music Industry" isn't a bunch of liberals? Dixie Chicks are mediocre at best. But as you know, marketing outweighs talent (ie. Justin Timberlake). It will be a cold day in hell that I ever buy/listen/care about any Dixie Twit. Btw, did not that lil dweeb timberlake sing like a girl and look like pee wee Herman?

And don't give me that crap about high record sales..Michael Jackson had incredible record sales but I wouldn't let him 1000 yards from me or my children.....

Hollywood+music cabals sit around and circle jerk each other at these awards while they feed their "sheeple" fans what they crave. Sheeple are happy to have their tastes defined for them because they are unable to think independently and accept face value the sanctimonious crud they are fed by the media.

What the whiners can't stand is that these Dixie Twits spoke their mind and were handed CONSEQUENCES for their actions.

Loud Gasp!

How dare people not want to hear them after they use their position in the media to express a non-popular sentiment. they had their say and were handed their asses. The only "wussies" around here are the people saying what happened was wrong.

We should all love each other and get along blah blah blah.......rap sux.

I love their music....the haunting ballads are killers. Why would the music industry as a whole say they were sorry....only the C&W radio stations and some hick fans should apologize for being anti First Amendment and so petty. Liberals have nothing to apologize for!

Blaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt on the Dixie Chicks. Don't like them, really didn't like them after their bashed the Prez and will never like them. I get so sick of the liberals showering this awards and rewards on people like this. I don't always agree with our President and don't really like the war in Iraq, but I'm not going to go around bashing him or the soldiers serving.

Not exactly it was because of Hard-Work More like It, that enough to tell President to "Shut Up".

If you like Dixie Chicks then "Shut Up".

That's about the size of it. Still with the more conservative country music fans their CD sales and concert attendence ain't what it used to be. To them it dosen't matter if they were right or wrong, you just don't bad mouth the president on foriegn soil during a time of war.

Ya, I think so......but, I like their music. The thing is....they didn't really do anything this past year. that's the part I don't get. I haven't seen the awards they received yet cuz it only just started about an hour ago in Cali. but, NO i don't think they deserved it.

Or perhaps its because they are enormously talented artists? And furthermore, The Grammy's can't be that damn liberal....they gave the best pop collaboration award to "safe" Stevie Wonder and Tony Bennett when there were others collabs that were much better.
