It was okay but I can't say I was very pleased. I purchased their album and it wasn't that great. I think the only reason they won so much is because of that song " Not ready to make nice". I was a little disappointed Mary J Blige or even James Blunt didn't win Song of the Year or Record of the Year. My biggest disappointment was towards the end for Album of the Year, I really wanted the Red Hot Chili Peppers to win, their album was way better than the Dixie Chicks. Natalie Manes, was a bit cocky and trying to make jokes she even got a little political there. But thats my opinion...

Seriously, I can't believe they won that many awards.

Ok they went through a lot of crap this last year with country stations in the USA not playing their songs, but in my opinion their album or songs aren't as good as many of the other nominees. They made a stand, they caused some controversy and now they are winning awards for it (not for the quality of their music).

The Grammy awards have long ceased to be about the music and are now more about politics, media, celebrities etc.

Not happy Jan :(

If the dixie chicks had mentioned what they mentioned approximately George Bush 6 months in the past, i actually do no longer think of they might have caught as plenty flack over it. i'm happy for them and need they're back for solid.

One of my big criticisms of the 1960's pop stars is many of them refused to stand up and speak out against very obvious injustice. I don't agree with the way the Dixie Chicks spoke out, but I believe they were right to speak out against injustice. The saddest part, and I think they would agree, is they are being proved right.
My congratulations to them, I hope they get a lot of radio air time too!

They are good musicians. I think they earned their awards.

The Grammys aren't about politics, they're about musicianship. Their opinion of the President is not something that should be considered in such matters, in the same way that a soldier's taste in music should not affect whether or not he receives a medal.

I think there are better things to do with your time than watch plastic posers tell each other that they are better than all of the rest of us.

Cops, Firefighters, Teachers, Parents, all have harder, nastier, more valueable jobs, but you don't see them standing on a stage wearing clothes so expensive they can feed a small village for a week.

Please find something more worthy to do with your time.
