The grammys are totally fixed by the leftists of Hollywood...They basically snubbed their nose at our troops, bush and America. Pathetic but so predictable./

These girls clawed their way against adversity when they could have skulked away into obscurity. Actually, if you listen to the lyrics, the song IS NOT about the President, but the death threats and violent backlash from the public over a flippant, ill-timed comment that the media exploited to the fullest.

It was a message about coping with the anger on the journey to forgiveness. Other musicians supported them because they understand the role the media plays in these matters.

And the underdogs won. Bravo!

And not to dis James Blunt, but I am really done with that song.

The only downside is that The Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't win.

It is true, but it's also fixed because it's a bunch of old men stuck in the 60's. For example: everytime Paul Mccartney makes an album, whether it's good or the worst album every to be recorded, it gets a nomination.

After All the Crap the Chicks and their fans went thru, this is 110% Vindication for all of us!!! When the Bandwagon fans, Nashville, and the Industry turned their backs on them and us, The Real True Fans. The Real True Fans kept on Supporting them!!! Anybody who is a Real True Fan of theirs is Smiling from Ear to Ear. This makes My Year!!! I went to their Concert in November in Phoenix, it was smaller in scale compared to their last tour when they were Huge, but it was Great to see The Real True Fans come together and support the Chicks!!! So Natalie has every right to do what she did at the Grammys, She could have been Nastier, but it was Great that She did it the way She did it by saying, "Well, to quote the great 'Simpsons' — 'Heh-Heh.' So "Heh Heh" to all those people who turned their backs on the Chicks!!!

Exactly! When I saw that the Dixie Chicks were up for nominations it was so obvious Hollywood was trying to prove a point and that was enough for me not to tune in.

I am proud of Texas radio stations for standing strong because they seldom get air play here and that is as it should be.

Yeah, it does say it all, and what it says is that the freedom of speech still matters and that pedantic flag wavers don't get to dictate what is acceptable speech. As far as nose snubbing goes, try to remember that not everyone shares your narrow view of what "America" stands for (e.g. if you get pissed that the "leftists" control something, you should at least be aware that other people are just as tired of right-wingers controlling things). For example, my view of what makes America great can't really be summed up in a Chevy commercial. Right-wingers don't have a monopoly on American values, or supporting the troops for that matter. Republicans, after all, were the ones who slashed funding for veterans (see, for example, http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2005/Apr/10/ln/ln12p.html). That, I think, is a bigger snub than a stupid Grammy award.

Suuuuure.
I guess the Dixie Chicks are the reason the Republicans lost control of the House too right?
And they're why Bush's approval ratings are the lowest they've been right?
Don't OVERestimate the power of music.

Yep, very pathetic. How nice for the deserving groups that didn't get their Grammy because of some elite liberal idiots who wanted to send some misguided message, nice screw job. They have made a mockery of their award.

You got that right studly! Why didn't the liberal music machine just get up on stage and bow down before the mighty "Chix" and kiss their liberal asses right on national TV. Oh, yeah right...they did! They gave them 5 freakin' grammies for a crappy album. Geez. These shows are BS.

I was very surprised they got the grammy. They talk too much. Who cares what they think. They are there to entertain, not force their opinions on people. Free speech is one thing, but they use their fame to throw it on people who really don't care.
