I was just watching the Grammy's and they said that Scarlett Johansson*sp* is working on an album!! wow..any actor/actress can also sing now?!

Well, let's give credit where credit may be due. If the actor can sing, then good for him or her.
However, I DO agree with you that it seems that almost anyone can get a record deal these days. All you need is a good producer, some catchy tunes, a cute face and body and you're good to go. It's as if they'll do all the primping for you as they market their music...
Natural talent and a passion for lyrics doesn't seem to be so important anymore.

Its not that crazy. Most actors/actress' can sing and do other things because generally if you are in the arts you are talented with more than one. So acting, singing, drawing, playing instruments, etc will all come easier to you. People also find it so far-fetched that actors can actually be gifted in other areas (such as singing) but they really go hand in hand almost.

Yuppers, I remember the days that a pathetically tone deaf band by the name of "The Beatles" was by passed by "Decca" and we; THANK GOD : never heard of them again. Be careful of what you moan about for tomorrow you may sing praises of them.
