i think i know where you are going with this question, but you need to wird it differently. for instance: ( Waht are 5 reasons gay people should be allowed to marry besides love?) and so here are my answers:
1) we are citizens just as anyone else and we deserve the same rights.
2) for insurance reasons. say you are the bread winner but your partner has little or no medical coverage, if you married you would be able to get spousal or family insurance.
3) when one of dies the one we leave behind should be allowed to inherit our belongings. not our family coming in and taking everything.
4) because God created all man and woman kind equal.
5) because it is no one else's business if we want to get married. it does not effect anyone else if carol and nancy; or joe and bob get married. it will not effect henry and jane doe that have been married for fifty years in any way, shape or form.
people say that it make their marriage less meaningful. but how could that be. your marriage is what you make it. they are not screaming about all the people that get divorced after three months of being married. that would seem more demeaning to me than two men or two women getting married and staying married for fifty years. there are so many people out there that get married out of convinience; either for immigration reasons or just for looks for their boss'. why not let people get married just for being in love and wanting to share their life with the ones they love in a bond of marriage. why is it so wrong to love. their should not be anything wrong with love. i don't understand why there is such a fuss when their are so many other things out there that people just don't care about when they should. like the enviroment, homlessness, starvation and famine. the aids crisis and cancer research. finding a cure for diabetes or lukemia. the war in iraq and the way the government has handled it. these are much more important issues. so thye need to just make it legal for us to marry and go on to the things that affect the whole world. why would they make such a fuss over two people being in love and wanting to get married, especially when there is so much hate and violence in the world. just pass the damn laws and move on!

without one of them being in love? All people who are getting married should love each other (unless you are asking us to state 5 reasons discluding the love part)?
1. They are people; all people are equals and therefore deserve the same rights
2. It's not someone else's choice to decide whether or not to get married, it is their choice.
3. Divorce rates of straight people are pretty bad, so who would it hurt if gays got married?
4. If there are straight people marrying for the wrong reasons- i.e. marrying a rich person just for the money, then why can't gays get married?
5. More children can be adopted and helped because they cannot bear their own children.

1. No other Legal contract is denied to those wishing to partake of it on the basis of the Gender of the participants.
2. Religious Arguments have no legal force when deciding issues of "rights". Those who feel their religion forbids such a union are under no obligation to either partake of or perform such a union.
3. There is no requirement for procreation or fertility that restricts the right to marry or makes any such marriage invalid should offspring not be the result of such a union.
4. So long as the individuals involved are above the age of consent and not closely related, the Government has no compelling interest which would legally bar any two legal adults from marrying if that is their wish to do so.
5. To create a separate but equal institution sets precedent for discrimination which was declared Unconstitutional by Brown VS Board of Education.

Marriage is based on a presumption of a loving relationship, but since straight people can marry without one of them being in love (Britney Spears & Jason Alexander as an example), the reasons would be:
1. If two gay people are in a committed relationship and one becomes ill, the other partner can be denied hospital visitation since there is no legal relationship making the partner a family member.
2. If a gay partner dies the surviving partner cannot inherit a jointly owned home without being assessed an inheritance tax, and if the partners were married the surviving partner would be exempt from this tax. Many gay people lose their homes due to the tax burden when a partner dies.
3.If a gay partner dies the surviving partner cannot receive pension or social security benefits, and if the surviving partner inherits a retirement plan it is also taxed because the surviving partner is not legally related.
4. If a gay couple is fortunate enough to have an employer offer health benefits to their partner, the partners benefits are considered taxable income since there is no legal relationship between the two people.
5. Gay partners are disproportionately taxed since they are unable to file joint tax returns since there is no legal relationship between the two partners.
6. Some religious denominations marry same sex partners, so same sex marriage is not a religious issue. Denying same sex marriage gives preferential treatment to certain religious teachings.

if you arent in love why would you want to marry? Or do you think Gay people cant love each other? If you think that you are wrong.
The Christians say that marriage is a divine institution joining one man and one woman only, and that to allow same sex marriages destroys the sanctity of the marital institution. How can Christians say such things? As if marriage were still intact. They say Marriage is supposed to be between one man and one woman only. If this is a true statement to you, then you are a Bible believing Christian and you must also agree that sex is supposed to happen only between two married people. We all know that there are many Christians who have sex before marriage? The divorce rates among Christians are so high it is ridiculous. How many of us have heard of Christians participating in adultery, pastors addicted to pornography? The institution of marriage was desecrated long before the homosexuals asked for the privilege of marriage. It was desecrated by Christians. It isn't non-Christians preachers that must leave their churches due to extra-marital affairs. Its the Christians.

1. because all humans are equal and gays should have the same rights as everyone else.
2. because they might want the same legal protection and benefits that other married couples have.
3. they might want to adopt kids and like the idea of being married first.
4. to show their commitment to each other.
5. they might be religious and feel marriage is the right step forward in their relationship.

01. Straight couples don't have to be in love to get married.
02. Straight couples don't have children all the time.
03. As business arrangements, ie for tax breaks, incentives to save, to buy bonds, etc. to build Estates.
04. In case one or both is sick and this way they have Medical Care decisions and visitation RIGHTS to visit, without which they couldn't even visit without the Hospital LETTING THEM. With marriage or adoption, the Hospital has no choice and must follow the directions of the Caregiver.
05. Legal - when one dies NOW, without marriage or beneficiaries, the State inherits everything. If allowed to marry, the other husband/wife would be allowed to inherit and be able to keep the house, home, cars, etc.
06. SORRY - I just couldn't get married without LOVE.
