Wahlberg never saw the envelope handed to the girlfriend in case Leanardo Di Caprio was killed. Good twisty movie until the end. Just seemed like a gaping hole. I was watching this with other people and they could not answer the question either.

Maybe it was special effects. It was pretty amazing though.

Recommend the Chinese Asia Version of The Departed which called Internal Affairs 1, 2 & 3.
DVD has english subtitles.
And, The Departed will be having part 2 & 3 soon. I guess.

We don't know what she did with the envelope. I think she would tell the cops once she read it. Then it would only be a matter of time before Mark's character found out.
I like movies that require us to figure things out on our own, instead of just showing us all the answers.

As said earlier.. watch the Hong Kong version (w Eng subs) where the movie was adapted from.

Wow I thought I was the only one who saw that plot hole!!! I don't think he has enough info and I kept getting the feeling they were trying to rush to the ending. IMO the ending needed to be rewritten...other than that i enjoyed the movie
