Oprah, Racist?

Could Oprah be a Racist, giving in to the white majority with a tag-line of African Americans to legitimize her show. I mean she speaks like an uppity white person around whites and a quasi dialect around blacks. But, what about other dominate cultures today in 2007 in the U.S. It's no longer about blacks & whites like it was in the 50's, 60's & 70's we are a lot more diverse now, we now all have a voice and we make a difference at the voter's ballot. As an American citizen why doesn't one of the richest, most popular, influential, person of color, African American woman focus on other nationalities on her show? Could it be to capture the so- called "white majority" for ratings, let me know what you think. FYI I am half Latino and half White.

Don't get me wrong, she seems like the nicest person on earth, I even met one of her aunts. But lets be honest, all the freebies she gives are to "keep the IRS off her behind", like Chris Rock says.

If you look at her shows they are moving towards the blacks and the whites, but the majority of her audience are white race. The show is pretty much the same every year in a worst level. I agree with you she really doesn't show other nationalities besides her own and white race. Does she forget she's in the U.S. "the melting pot"? Oprah wake up!

Black people can be prejudiced but not racists. She's doing what she needs to do to make more cash. Don't be a hater. She's given millions to charities that benefit people of all nationalities & gifts to kinds of people. Bill Gates has done so also. Mia Farrow has adopted children of all nationalities. I think the fact that a celeb is willing to help in anyway is great. On whom does Tyra focus? What about Montel? As far as how she speaks, what's wrong with an black woman speaking proper English? I guess you'd be upset with me too because on my job, I only speak the "Kings English" but speak "broken English/Spanglish" around family and friends. I do so by choice because I'm educated enough to know the difference. Instead of speaking negatively about Oprah, tell me why Cristina doesn't have non-Latinos on her show?

She is 1 person, she does a lot of good, but everyone wants to talk about what THEY think she should be doing.

Earn your own billion and then YOU can decide how best to spend it.

She cannot be everything to all people. Each person, wealthy or not, famous or not, powerful or not, must decide how they are going to make a difference in this world.

I don't know that she is a racist, but it did bother me that she opened an exclusive girls school in Africa and there are girls in this country that are not being given the same opportunity to go to a decent school. I don't care that the girls were all black or not. We need to start concentrating on the problems in this country before we start going to other countries and opening up schools when kids here are not afforded the same.

she's racist. she made all of that money & forgot where she came from. She lost all of her weight, bleached her skin (rent the color purple). she now feel better than all blacks.
