I think Seaweed was referring to the fact that February 11th is the 44th anniversary of Sylvia Plath's suicidal death.

My favourite poem is Lady Lazarus.

Sylvia Plath committed suicide a LONG time ago. Anyway, I love the mushroom one.

I was forced to read Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar in high school and I found her to be extremely depressing, appalling clueless and not something any teenage girl should be reading. I'd much rather read the biographies of women such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks and Mother Theresa. People who did something positive with their lives in spite of all the odds against them doing so. Why high schools persist in keeping her on their reading lists is beyond understanding. What sort of role model is she?
