The rotor is the metal disc that is connected the the wheel (this where you bolt the wheel) which are pressed by the pads when you push the brake, slowing the rotors, which slows the wheel, which slows the car.

The rotor is the thing that turns with the wheel. The brake much like the brake on a bicycle grabs on to it. You will know they need replace when the car makes a weird squawking noise when you step on the brake. They are designed to do that when they are worn out.

i own a repair shop and its hard to explain what a brake rotor is,you need to buy a good repair manual and set down and read it ,you,ll be surprised at what you can learn about a car from reading one of these books,good luck.

the roter is what your rim is attached to. it is what your brake pads pinch to stop you when driving . your brake caliper sits over it and pinches your break pad s in to the roter when stoping
