Miracle gro is a great all around fertilizer, instructions for use on packaging. Pesticides should not be used unless you have insects on the plant, identify the specific insect and treat accordingly. Desert Roses (beautiful) will live for years. How about sending me a cutting?!!

It needs lots of light and fresh air. Keep it in a bright location in winter. In summer, if possible, move outdoors to a sunny or partly shaded location.
Make sure the plant is never below 54 degrees; however, in the winter, keeping it cool (between 54-61 degrees).
It needs little water during winter, especially when kept cool. Increase water during growing and blooming periods.
Feed it monthly during spring and summer with liquid bonsai fertilizer or fish emulsion.

just treat it like a normal rose. Natural fertilizer i.e. chook poo, and they love egg shells
