It's possible but not probable. If you can sell yourself, make yourself a believable person and dress well, which it sounds like you probably do, then its a start.

You need to want to know how drugs work in the system. You need to be a good business person, such as which doctors are going to waste your time. Plus, keeping perfect track of the samples you give out. You need to be persuasive on a very intellectual level and think on your feet answering some very tough questions from dictors. You need to know how to pronounce fluidly some very long Latin-sounding words. Anatomy and physiology, organic chemistry, but sales experience also is key.

Below is a copy of an answer I posted recently in response to a question similar to yours. Hope it helps. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker Why would you want to get into pharmaceutical sales? What motivated you into it? Who/what influenced you? What do you know about the industry, the companies, the products? What do you know about the job? What have you done so far to prepare yourself for a career in pharmaceutical sales? Ask yourself these questions now because if you are interviewed, the hiring manager is going to ask you these same questions. In getting to know you, your work experience and your skills, they like to ask questions that require answers given in the STAR format (what was the Situation or Task, what Action did you take to solve it, and what was/were the Result(s)). Below are the basic qualifications pharma companies look for in a candidate: 1. A 4-year bachelors degree with excellent grades (in any field, although science may help) 2. At least 2 years of successful, documented, business-to-business sales experience 3. A good driving record 4. A good credit background 5. Passion and personality I recommend that you check out opportunities with b2b sales companies like ADP, Coca-Cola, Xerox, Enterprise, etc. Excel while there and learn all that you can. After 2+ years of this, try out the contract companies like PDI, InVentiv and Innovex. These companies contract with big pharma companies by providing supplemental sales force. This would be a good and "easier" way for you to get your foot in the door rather than trying it out directly with big pharma companies. Yes, I recommend this profession to anyone with the above qualifications and not afraid to work hard and long hours to reap the many rewards provided by this profession. Good luck!

Yes! I have a friend doing great with similar difference from degree and the sales job. You have to have persuasion as part of your personality or past skills. The transition is easy if you have that in your favor!

hi,
I can understand you want to make a career change , I went to college for interior design it cost me $17,000 including all the supplies I need to make projects
I never had the chance to get an amazing job for the $17,000 I invested in my career, instead I ended up with a loan and a low paying job that all it was going for was my loan
one day I was on the internet and I saw an ad of a program online that teaches you how to make money from home I was skeptical about it but compare to the $17,000 I invested in college it was worth the try and it was now I make a good living doing it and at home and for as little as $30 you get the online course with a one on one coaching and you make your money
check it out before you get a job in pharmaceutical sales if you can do sales do this the profit will be greater
check it out and good luck

In sales, whatever degree you have does not matter. But you have to show the personnel of your ability to sell, because fashion design and sales are quite different things.

YES you sure can! Most companies don't care WHAT your degree is in, just that you were able to stick to it and get the degree!
Good luck!
