smokey eyes are always in...but apparently not to my mom. lol. to get smokey eyes..i reccomend using a thin pen style eyeliner like maybelline unstopable in "oynx"...you can buy that at drug/grocery stores. swipe a thick line of the eyeliner on your bottom eyelash line. then for the eyeshadow i reccomend a dark grey or black color..try maybelline shadow stylist in "sultry black" also found at grocery stores. put a thick line on ur eyelid. then for mascara i reccomend maybelline volumexpress turbo in "very black". this works for me, it takes a bit of practice before it looks good. dont smudge anything tho...it just makes it smudge more and go all over the place during the day.

I have heard that a good way to get a smokey eye is to put on eyeliner and shadow, take a shower and wipe off the excess makeup, so you get a smokey, soft look.
One way to not get a racoon look is to put on some neutral brown eyeshadow onto your eyelids. Then, use a black or brown pencil eyeliner and put a very thin line onto your lashlines. You can decide whether you want it on the inside or outside. Outside tends to make your eyes look bigger. Then, take a q-tip and smudge it a little bit to soften the eyeliner. Then, if you look a little bit like a racoon, take some makeup remover and swipe away the excess eyeshadow.

dark eyeliner around the whole eye. the trick is to use it so close to your lashline that there is no skin showing; and to do it a little thicker towards the outside corners.

use a pencil and hold it against your nose (the widest part),hold the other end at the edge of your eye. this is where the eyeliner stops.

Line your eyes with some deep color.
With a fine brush, sweep your choice of shadow under the eye but don't make it smudge too much.
Then add that same color to the top lid :)
