I do have XP Pro on drive C and needless to say, I forgot to partion my drive. How can I get back the extra drive space, and not loose my OS and files????

There are various utilities available to do this.
Here is a free one :

there is no way around it reinstall windows xp pro and reformat your hard drive and delete that partion and make a new partion. then from there reinstall windows xp pro.. Read what it tell you on the screen. ok then you should be set to go.

the easiest way and I would have to say the best is by formatting and reinstall and making sure you create all the partation before install windows.... can try using partition magic by symantec I have never tried the program before. So I cant help you any further than that.

Goto Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management on the right you will find the drives.

Make sure you donot remove any of the partition.

there you can create new extened partion and create logical partions
