while a Volcano erupts that's a surprising prevalence, like popping a zit, the lava purely comes out extremely today and then the volcano settles. The lava on the volcano cools and probable rebuilds the melted rock layer below it. additionally even at severe temperatures, rock takes time to warmth up, particularly deep rock. So it takes greater time. and you're able to remember that if something is warmer than the air around it, no rely how warm that's, that's in a relentless state of cooling.

Lava, which is magma underground, is melting the rock inside the volcano as it does sit there. The rock that is not completely melted acts as an insulator, preventing the heat from reaching even more rock. The further away from the magma a rock is, the less likely it is to ever become molten.

According to your theory, if a little bit of magma can melt an entire volcano, couldn't that also melt the entire earth?

Very clever question. Lava does melt the volcano. But there is a lot of volcano and, comparatively, not that much lava. And the lava cools down and becomes... rock. So the lava that melted parts of the volcano becomes more volcano.

that's a very interesting question. but the heat of the lava inside the volcano is so much higher than the temp outside of it. the lava that comes out is cooler than what is inside. are you talking about the lava melting rock on the outside of it?
hopefully a scientist will answer your q with an explanation. because i never thought of that!

thats exactly what it's doing when it's comming OUT of the volcano in the first place. If you study volcano's you'll notice that only the part with NO lava flowing is the only part standing. The inside of the volcano is hollow with lava flowing out of it.

good question....maybe that's why some of them leak out the side. Or maybe the dirt causes some insulation. I think I'll investigate that.
